Professional Experience

Hernán joined Cordero & Cordero Abogados in 1994. He is a third generation attorney at the firm and is currently the Managing Partner for both of the Guanacaste Offices (Liberia & Huacas Offices). His experience in different types of transactions ranges from of-counsel legal work for international banking institutions to transactional work with foreign investors dealing with the tourism and real estate industry. His experience in these fields include:

• Lead counsel to several high-end development projects in the Guanacaste (Papagayo) Area;
• Providing legal advice U.S. companies investing and doing business in Costa Rica.
• Managing Partner for the Liberia and Huacas (Tamarindo & Flamingo Area) offices;
• In counsel for a leading financial institution in Costa Rica

From 2000 through 2002, Hernán was appointed by the Executive Power as General Consul and Commercial Advisor to the Ambassador in Madrid, Spain.
